Our Mission
and Vision

OTR Learning Center partners with local schools to identify and provide direct support to students struggling with reading, in order to address critical gaps in literacy for at-risk students in our community.

Our vision is for all students in Greater Cincinnati to be reading on grade level by the end of third grade, ensuring the best long-term educational, occupational and personal outcomes for students.

This is a critical time in a child's educational development.

When students lack the skills to read, they risk falling even further behind,

both in and out of school.

Third grade reading proficiency is an early indicator of a student

being on track to graduate high school.

We at the OTR Learning Center will work to ensure that

all children get the education they deserve.

        Our Values

  • LEARNING AND EXCELLENCE

What People Are Saying

I had two students work with this program for the entirety of the academic year. I saw great gains in their early literacy skills very early on. Their progress monitoring (Acadience) showed great gains in phonological awareness very early on in the academic year. Students continued to acquire skills that bolstered their reading accuracy and fluency. By the end of the year, my two students in this program were reading and writing at a grade appropriate level and keeping up with peers in the classroom. Their confidence sky-rocketed, and their data also reflected how much they benefited from this program.
